Camping meets Safari

Luxurious Camping meets Safari: Experience Namibia’s natural wildlife?

This special glamping adventure awaits guests of our four-star lodge and Bush Spa in Namibia: a night under the stars on a one-day Glamping Safari in Africa, with an unforgettable stay at our Bush Camp nestled in the savannah of Kambaku’s private game park.

The Bush Camp Programme

After an exciting game drive or safari ride comes to an end, we will whisk you and your family along hidden paths to our authentic outpost in the bush. There’s no fence enclosing this small retreat, no rooms, chalets, or swimming pools nearby – and not another soul in sight... Instead, you’ll find a fire pit and simple rooftop tents, elevated on wooden stilts for your safety. Oil lanterns line the narrow paths that weave through the thick thornbush, leading to rustic wash areas, a shower, and a WC – all offering breathtaking views of the untamed wilderness.

Once the horses are settled and released into the bush, and the game drive vehicle’s engine cools down, the camp grows quiet – and your adventure begins...

You’ll have time to explore the charming Kambaku Bush Camp, settle in and relax, while your guide prepares dinner: a delicious barbecue featuring oryx fillet or baked potatoes, accompanied by salads, cold beer, gin and tonic, water, or wine. As the campfire crackles, your guide shares captivating stories from Namibia, while you gaze up at the star-filled sky, where time seems to stand still. Later, as you snuggle into your sleeping bag and listen to the unfamiliar sounds carried by the evening breeze, your guide will keep watch, ensuring your safety.

In the morning, you’ll awaken to the chirping of birds and the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee in the air. Breakfast will feature warm bread baked over the fire, boiled eggs, crispy bacon, and fresh orange juice. During your guided morning walk around the camp, you’ll discover tracks left by the wildlife that roamed near your tents during the night, and you’ll have the opportunity to spot animals while game viewing at the nearby waterhole.

Back at camp, you’ll have the opportunity to freshen up and pack your belongings. By late morning, we’ll transport you back to the lodge by quad bike or jeep, allowing you to reflect on the extraordinary bush adventure you’ve just experienced. You’ll have time to relax before embarking on a new adventurous journey in Kambaku’s stunning wilderness.

Explorers & Adventurers

WHO IS THE BUSH CAMP ADVENTURE FOR?

Kambaku’s Bush Camp Adventure offers a unique glamping safari in Africa for young and old alike, whether you’re booking the programme for yourself, as a couple, with friends, or as a family. Rarely does one feel the savannah so intensely, with nature touching the soul as deeply as it does here, far out in the African wilderness. Children, in particular, love the camping adventure with their parents, but couples and friends also relish the primal atmosphere of the bush camp – pure nature, far from luxury, Wi-Fi, mobile reception, and electricity.

Unfortunately, this camp is not suitable for people with limited mobility or walking disabilities. The tents are accessed by narrow ladders, and the bush paths are not paved.

THE TENTS

In the bush camp, you’ll sleep in simple two-person tents, elevated on wooden stilts for protection from wildlife. Access is via iron ladders with steep steps, making the adventure unsuitable for guests with mobility impairments.
Sleeping bags, pillows, and woollen blankets ensure comfort during your glamping experience in Namibia. Guests who are prone to feeling cold should pack warmer clothing for the overnight stay at the bush camp.

SAFETY IN THE CAMP

Kambaku’s Bush Camp in Namibia is located about 6 km from the Kambaku Lodge and can be reached in approximately 30 minutes by car.

The glamping adventure is led by an experienced wildlife guide. Unlike camps in places like Etosha National Park, where sites must be fenced off for protection from lions and elephants, Kambaku’s Bush Camp is unfenced, open, and set in the middle of the national savannah. While Kambaku’s wildlife reserve is home to animals like leopards, cheetahs, honey badgers, and hyenas, they tend to avoid human contact and are kept away by the sounds of camp activity.

Since there is no mobile or internet reception in the camp, guests are free to fully immerse themselves in nature. However, for safety, your guide maintains radio contact with the lodge, and assistance can be summoned immediately in an emergency. A 4x4 vehicle is kept on-site.
