In cooperation with the Kambaku Wildlife College we offer vocational training for Field and Riding Guides at KAMBAKU. The training is divided in two parts: the theoretical part consists of nature and wildlife classes (self study) via the online learning platform of Kambaku's colleges. The practical part of the courses takes place on site at KAMBAKU.

APPRENTICE FIELD GUIDE KURS
This course with individual online learning and five week practical training at KAMBAKU marks the basis of a professional field guide career. During the theoretical part you will gain knowledge about the wildlife and nature of the savannah and learn more about the tasks of conservation work and cultural history of Southern Africa. The online studies take place via the digital learning platform of Kambaku's colleges. Please plan at least three months full time for this part. Afterwards, you will attend the practical guide training at KAMBAKU with classes in tracking, 4x4 driving and general guiding skills.

FIELD GUIDE or Ride* Guide COURSE
In order to work as a qualified field or riding* guide, you need a lot of practical experience and knowledge of wildlife, biomes and climate as well as skills in vehicle maintenance or weapon handling. Before you start the one year course with us, you have to do the online learning part for the Apprentice Field Guide exam. At KAMBAKU you will practise alongside a mentor guide to get prepared for your FGASA exam and work as independent field or riding guide*.
Please note, that we only have two training positions per year available and the process of application for a study permit takes minimum three months.
